Our Story

Ken Stabler Trucking was founded in July 1989 by Ken and Alane Stabler.  It began with one truck and a dream of being a self-employed owner operator.  In the beginning, we hauled gravel and asphalt in the highway construction industry then transitioned into hay and ag commodities for the winters.  Ken Stabler Trucking  progressed to over the road trucking in the late ‘90s and slowly grew by the addition of more trucks as the demand required.  In 2003, Ken and Alane added A&K Transport, a brokerage company, to broker out excess loads.  

In 2008, when the economy began its downturn, Ken felt it essential to focus on Stabler Steel & Recycling, a business he and Alane had started a few years before.  Ken Stabler Trucking began servicing the Bakken Oil field of Western North Dakota and Eastern Montana as well as hauling scrap metal for Stabler Steel & Recycling. 

With the Bakken booming and the abundance of oversized loads, Alane began Stabler Pilot Service in 2011 primarily focusing in Montana, North and South Dakota, and Wyoming. 

Ken and Alane are members of Motor Carriers of Montana, where Ken has been serving on the Board of Directors for many years, including the President in 2012.  In addition to Motor Carriers of Montana, Ken and Alane are also active in the American Trucking Association and Transportation Intermediaries Association.
